Can I customize the Audit start date/historical lookback of my organization?

When you analyze historical content across your organization, you require a synchronized timeline to compare markets and brands accurately. The platform establishes a universal start date for your data retrieval. Let's explore how to customize this lookback period and how timeline shifts affect your connected accounts.

Step 1: Understand the Universal Lookback Period

The system establishes a specific date to begin historical content analysis. This date remains identical across your entire organization. Because creative quality requires a global perspective, this universal date allows you to accurately compare markets, brands, and platforms across a shared timeline. Once you connect an ad account, the platform automatically retrieves data from that exact historical date to the present day, unless you previously established a specific end date at your initial setup.

Step 2: Review Adjustment Impacts

While the system sets this date at your initial launch, your organization can request an adjustment. If you need to alter the timeline, the system applies the data differently based on the direction of your shift:

Adjustment DirectionDashboard Impact
Move the Date BackwardIf you select an older date, the system automatically updates all connected accounts. It retrieves additional historical content to match the new, expanded timeline.
Move the Date ForwardIf you select a more recent date, the system only applies this restriction to newly connected accounts. Pre-connected accounts will retain their original, older content.

Step 3: Request an Adjustment

The system secures this specific configuration to prevent accidental data shifts. If you need to alter the lookback period, please contact your customer success manager to execute the change.

Troubleshooting

Did you encounter a roadblock with your historical data?

  • Absent Historical Data: If your newly connected account lacks older posts, check your current timeline parameters. Your organization likely moved the date forward, which restricts data retrieval for new connections.
  • Mismatched Timelines: If you notice some accounts display older data than others, remember that forward adjustments do not erase past data from original accounts.
