Once you've activated your Datalink Connection (steps here), you can start sending assets to your chosen Datalink partner(s).
There are two ways you can send assets:
- Historical Scoring: This allows you to send a one-off set of in-flight assets for a specific period of time. For example, if you want to send all Q1 2026 assets for 3 brands, all markets, and across 1 channel.
- This is often used at first as a 'technical test' to validate the integration is working and that you're seeing all the metrics you expect in CreativeX's UI and in the Exports.
- Following the technical test, Historical Scoring is also often used as part of measurement studies and post campaign analysis.
- Automatic Scoring: This allows you to automate the delivery of every asset (either Pre-Flight or In-Flight) within your criteria to be sent automatically to a Datalink partner for scoring, with the result returned into CreativeX. For example, if you want to send every asset Pre-Flight tested for specific brands + markets + channels, or if you want to send every asset that we ingest In-Flight from your ad accounts. Learn more in our help center article here.
- This is often set up after the 'technical test' is done from step 1.
- Please reach out to your CreativeX Account team with any questions on the different ways to set up automatic scoring.
Step-by-Step: How to Set up Historical Scoring
- In the Connections tab, select Datalink. Ensure that the partner that you want to connect has an 'Active' label next to it.
- If it says 'pending', the request is still pending approval from the partner. Please reach out to your Account team or the support team for an update.
- If it has no label, the connection process hasn't begun, so please follow the steps here: steps here.
- Do not click on the partner name, instead click on the Historical Scoring tab. Click + New Request.
- Now you can fill out the criteria for your request.
- Partner: Choose the Datalink where you want your assets sent to and scored by
- Name: Give your request a free text name
- Date: Choose the date range for the assets. This can be by month, quarter, year, or all time
- Brands: Select all or specific brands to include
- Markets: Choose one or multiple markets
- Channels: Define which platform this applies to. Note, you can only choose 1 platform at a time, so you'll need to create two requests if you're running both Facebook and Instagram, for example.
- Asset types - Choose Image, Video, or both.
- Once you've filled out the above, hit Next. You'll get a pop-up message with an estimate number of assets that will be sent to the partner, asking you to Confirm. This is a good way to check the volume of assets, as you can click cancel should you not wish to send these.
- The reason it’s an estimate is that an ‘ad’ sent to a partner is a unique combination of asset ID + Brand + Market + Channel, and there’s a chance the number is slightly lower than the original estimate.
- Once you've hit Confirm, you'll see the request listed with the Status 'Processing'. Once all assets have been scored by the partner and returned into CreativeX, you'll see the status 'Complete'.
- If you see the status as 'Processing' for more than 24 hours, please reach out to your account team or Support as there may be an issue.
- You can now create further historical requests, for example if you want to request for additional channels.
