Connect a Google Ads YouTube Account to CreativeX (Partner)

This setup links your YouTube activity to your Google Ads structure so CreativeX can access video performance and creative data in one place.

Before you begin

Before you start, confirm that:

  • All your Google Ads accounts sit under a single Manager Account (MCC)
  • You can access the correct Google account
  • You have permission to share access to the account

CreativeX requires access to the MCC, not individual accounts, because this structure holds all account IDs across brands and markets.

This process combines account setup and access sharing. Each step must be complete for the connection to work.

Step 1: Prepare your account structure

Make sure all relevant Google Ads accounts sit under one Manager Account (MCC).

  • If your accounts sit across multiple MCCs, you must consolidate them
  • CreativeX cannot connect accounts individually due to Google limitations

This step ensures CreativeX can access all accounts through one central structure.

More information on how to do so at the bottom of this article.

Step 2: Share account details with CreativeX

To begin the connection:

  1. Download the required connection form
  2. Complete all fields in full
  3. Include all Account External Customer IDs for each Brand and Market
  4. Send the completed form to support@creativex.com

This form tells CreativeX exactly which accounts to connect and how they map across your organization.

Step 3: Request your CreativeX connection alias

After you send the form:

  • The CreativeX team will provide a connection alias
  • This alias is required to grant access correctly

Make sure you also confirm which client your team represents when you contact support.

Step 4: Grant CreativeX access in Google Ads

Once you receive the alias:

  1. Send a Read Only access invitation to CreativeX
  2. Use the correct integrations email provided by the CreativeX team

CreativeX uses this access to collect performance and creative data without making any changes to your account.

Step 5: Avoid duplicate connections

If your accounts already sit under an MCC that is connected to CreativeX:

  • Do not send a new invitation
  • Instead, update the form and email support with the new account details

This ensures the new accounts link correctly within the existing structure.

Troubleshooting

My YouTube data does not appear after connection
Check that your accounts sit under a single MCC and confirm that all relevant account IDs were included in the form.
I connected Google Ads but not YouTube data
This setup relies on Google Ads structure. Make sure the YouTube activity links to the same MCC.
I did not receive a connection alias
Check your email or contact support to request the alias again.
I sent access but nothing happens
Make sure you used the correct integrations email and completed the form in full.
I added new accounts after setup
Do not send a new invite. Update the form and notify support so they can link the new accounts correctly.

Create a Manager Account (MCC)

Start by signing in to your Google Ads account and navigate to the Google Ads Manager Accounts page. Select the blue Create Account button.

Give your Manager Account a clear and recognizable name so your team can identify it easily.

During setup, a warning message will appear above the Save and continue button. It will ask whether you want to create a new Google Ads account associated with your email address. Select the blue Click Here link in that message before you continue.

Next, link your existing accounts to this new Manager Account:

  • Open the Manager Account that currently holds your ad accounts

  • Go to the Accounts tab

  • Select the blue + button

  • Choose Link existing account and send a link request to your new Manager Account

Then, switch to your new Manager Account and accept the request:

  • Open the Management tab

  • Find the incoming request

  • Approve the link

Once accepted, the new Manager Account will appear under the original Manager Account.

  • Go to the Management tab

  • Select the ad account or accounts you want to move

  • Choose Change Manager

  • Select the new Manager Account you just created

After you confirm, the selected accounts will move under the new Manager Account.
