How can I view the campaign objective of my ad?

When you launch a new ad across social platforms, you need clear visibility into its original goals. The system captures the exact campaign objective set at the time of creation for Facebook and Instagram assets. Let's review how to locate this data and isolate specific goals across your dashboard.

Step 1: Understand the View Methods

You have two distinct methods to evaluate campaign objectives across the platform, depending on whether you want to review a single file or aggregate performance metrics.

View MethodDashboard LocationUse Case
Individual Asset ViewCreatives TabReview the exact objective assigned to a single live advertisement.
Aggregate Filter ViewCreative Quality PageCompare overall performance between different campaign types, such as brand awareness versus conversion.

Step 2: Locate the Objective on Individual Assets

To view the specific objective for an individual live ad, navigate to the Creatives Tab. Click on a specific creative to open the details. For Facebook and Instagram files, the system displays the campaign objective at the top of the Details section.

Step 3: Apply the Campaign Filter

To isolate performance metrics for specific goals across the broader dashboard, follow these exact instructions:

  1. Select the filter icon at the top of the Creative Quality page.
  2. Choose 'Ad Campaign' from the available menu.
  3. Select 'Filter by Ad Campaign' and choose the specific objectives or individual campaigns you want to evaluate.
  4. Exit the selection prompt.
  5. Click the 'Add' button to refresh the page and display the targeted results.

Troubleshooting

Did you encounter a roadblock with your campaign objectives?

  • Absent Objectives: If you cannot locate the campaign objective on an asset, check the platform source. The system currently only captures this specific data for Facebook and Instagram advertisements.
  • Empty Filter Results: If you apply the Ad Campaign filter and the dashboard displays zero results, check your date range. You likely need to expand the selected time frame to capture the relevant campaign data.
