Check Your Account Permissions for Meta (Facebook) Business Suite

Before you connect Meta (Facebook) ad accounts or Pages to CreativeX, you need to confirm that you have the correct level of access. Without the right permissions, the connection will fail and CreativeX will not be able to collect your data.

This guide explains how to check your permissions in Meta Business Suite so you can move forward with confidence.

Why permissions matter

Meta Business Suite controls access to all your business assets, including Pages, ad accounts, and team members. Each user has a specific role that determines what they can see and manage.

CreativeX requires Full Control (Admin-level access) to complete most connection flows. Without this level of access, key options may appear unavailable or certain accounts may not show during setup.

How to check your permissions in Meta Business Suite

Follow these steps to confirm your access level:

Step 1: Log in to Meta Business Suite

Go to business.facebook.com and sign in with your account

Step 2: Open Business Settings

Select the Settings (gear icon) in the bottom-left corner

This will open your Business Manager (also called Business Portfolio), where permissions are managed

Step 3: Go to People

In the left-hand menu, select People under the Users section

You will see a list of all users who have access to the Business Suite

Step 4: Find your profile

Locate your name or email address in the list

Step 5: Check your role

Review the role listed next to your profile

  • If you see Admin or Full Control, you have the correct permissions

  • If you see Employee or partial access, you will need additional permissions

Meta allows different access levels, but only users with full control can manage permissions and complete integrations.

Check permissions for a specific Page or ad account

Sometimes you have the correct business-level role, but not the correct access to a specific asset.

To confirm:

  1. Go to Business Settings

  2. Select Pages or Ad Accounts

  3. Choose the specific asset

  4. Open the People tab

Here, you can see who has access and what role they have for that specific asset

What to do if you do not have the right permissions

If your role is not Admin or Full Control:

  • Contact a Business Manager admin in your organization

  • Ask them to update your access level

  • Confirm you also have access to the specific Page or ad account

Only users with the correct permissions can connect accounts to CreativeX.

Troubleshooting

I cannot find the Settings or Business Settings menu
Make sure you are logged into Meta Business Suite, not just your personal Facebook account.

My role is Employee or partial access
You will need an Admin to upgrade your permissions before you can connect accounts.

I have Admin access but still cannot see certain ad accounts or Pages
Check whether you have been granted access to those specific assets. Business-level access does not always include asset-level permissions.

I see multiple Business Managers and I am not sure which one to use
Select the Business Manager that owns the ad account or Page you want to connect. Access can differ across Business Managers.

I have the correct permissions but the connection still fails
Log out and sign back in, then try again. If the issue continues, confirm that you selected the correct Business Manager during setup.
