Before you begin
Before you start the reconnection process, confirm that your access and account structure are correct. Most reconnection issues happen at this stage.
1. Confirm your role in TikTok Business Center
You must have the Admin role in TikTok Business Center
Log in to TikTok Business Center
Use the dropdown in the top right to select the correct Business Center
Make sure the selected Business Center matches the one originally used to grant CreativeX access. If you are unsure, refer to the guide on finding the correct Business Center ID.
2. Confirm the ad account still exists
Once you select the correct Business Center:
Go to the Accounts tab
Apply the filter Owned by this Business Center
Check that the ad account appears in the list
If the account does not appear, it may have been deleted or moved to a different Business Center. In that case, you must resolve that issue before attempting to reconnect.
Reconnect your TikTok ad account
After you confirm the prerequisites, follow these steps:
Step 1: Log in to CreativeX
Go to CreativeX and access your account
Step 2: Open Ad Accounts
Navigate to the Ad Accounts page
Step 3: Find the lapsed account
Select the Needs Connecting tab
Search for the TikTok ad account using the Account ID
Step 4: Start the reconnection
Select the three-dot menu on the right side of the account row and click Activate
Step 5: Log in to TikTok
Sign in to your TikTok Business Center account when prompted
Step 6: Approve permissions
TikTok will ask you to grant permissions to CreativeX
Keep Ad Account Management enabled
Keep Reporting enabled
If you disable these permissions, CreativeX cannot connect properly
Step 7: Confirm the connection
Click Confirm to complete the process
Once complete, the account will move to the Active tab and CreativeX will resume data collection.
Find your TikTok Business Center ID
If you are unsure which Business Center to use, follow these steps:
Log in to CreativeX
Navigate to the Ad Accounts page
Select the Needs Connecting tab
Find the relevant TikTok ad account
Click the blue link in the Account ID column
Locate the Business Center ID value
This ID helps you match the correct Business Center in TikTok.
What to expect after reconnection
After a successful reconnect:
CreativeX resumes data collection from TikTok
Reports begin to reflect the latest campaign activity
The account status updates to Active
It may take a short period for all recent data to appear.
Troubleshooting
I cannot find the ad account in TikTok Business Center
Check that you selected the correct Business Center. If the account does not appear, it may have been moved or deleted.
I do not have Admin access
You must have the Admin role to reconnect the account. Contact your internal administrator to update your permissions.
The Activate option does not work
Confirm that you selected the correct account and that your CreativeX user has access to it.
The connection fails after login
Review the permission screen carefully. CreativeX requires both Ad Account Management and Reporting access.
I selected the wrong Business Center
Reconnect again and choose the correct Business Center that matches the original connection.
The account still shows as lapsed after reconnecting
Repeat the process and confirm that all permissions were approved. Missing permissions can block the connection.
