Reconnect a Google Ads Account in CreativeX

When a Google Ads account disconnects from CreativeX, data collection stops. Reports no longer reflect current campaign activity, and your team loses visibility into performance across campaigns.

This guide explains how to prepare your account structure and reconnect your Google Ads account so CreativeX can resume data collection.


Before you begin

Before you attempt to reconnect, confirm that your account structure and access are set up correctly. Most reconnection issues occur at this stage.

1. Consolidate accounts into a single MCC

  • All Google Ads accounts must sit under a single Manager Account (MCC)

  • If your accounts are spread across multiple MCCs, you must consolidate them

This setup ensures CreativeX can access all accounts through one centralized structure.

2. Confirm CreativeX access

  • Grant CreativeX access to your Google Ads accounts

  • Use the same integrations email address that was previously linked

If the email address changes, CreativeX may not recognize the connection, which can prevent a successful reconnection.


Once your setup is complete, follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in to CreativeX

Access your account using your credentials

Step 2: Open Ad Accounts

Navigate to the Ad Accounts page

Step 3: Find the lapsed account

Search for the relevant Google Ads account

Click on the Account ID to open the account details

Step 4: Update the account status

Navigate to the Status section

  • Toggle the status from Lapsed to Active

  • Click Update to confirm

Once complete, CreativeX will reconnect to your Google Ads account and resume data collection.


What to expect after reconnection

After a successful reconnect:

  • CreativeX resumes data collection from Google Ads

  • Reports begin to reflect the latest campaign activity

  • The account status updates to Active

It may take a short period for all recent data to appear.


Troubleshooting

I cannot toggle the account to Active
Check that CreativeX has access to the correct MCC and that your permissions are still valid.

The account reconnects but data is missing
Confirm that all relevant ad accounts sit under the same MCC. If accounts exist outside that structure, CreativeX cannot access them.

I used a different email address for access
Make sure the integrations email matches the one previously linked. A mismatch can prevent reconnection.

I cannot find the account in CreativeX
Check your permissions in CreativeX and confirm that the account still exists in your MCC.

The account still shows as lapsed after updating the status
Try refreshing the page and confirm that access permissions are still active in Google Ads.
