When you prepare creatives for a new campaign, you need to know exactly which file formats the system accepts to guarantee a smooth evaluation process. The Pre-Flight tool accommodates a wide variety of standard formats so you can validate your assets prior to publication. Let's review the exact files you can submit and the restrictions you must follow.
Step 1: Review Supported Formats
The system accepts the majority of standard visual media files. When you construct your campaign toolkit, ensure your exports match one of these approved file types:
| File Category | Approved Formats |
|---|---|
| Video Files | MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, Quicktime |
| Image Files | JPEG, PNG, GIF* |
Step 2: Note Video Length Limits
Platform partners recommend concise video content for optimal performance. To align with these best practices, the system enforces a strict duration limit. You cannot submit any video file that exceeds three minutes in total length.
Step 3: Prepare GIF Files
If you use GIFs, you must understand how the platform processes them for specific channels. When the platform retrieves live Meta advertisements, it receives them as MP4 videos. The system cannot detect if these files originated as GIFs. To ensure an accurate evaluation before your campaign goes live, you must convert all GIFs to MP4 format before your Pre-Flight submission.
Step 4: Check Unsupported Formats
The platform strictly evaluates final visual deliverables. Therefore, it rejects source project files and non-visual documents. The system does not support these formats:
- TIF
- AI (Adobe Illustrator)
- PSD
- ZIP folders
