When a specific agency partner arrives to manage your Facebook campaigns, you probably want to restrict their access so they only view Meta data and skip your YouTube metrics. With our enhanced permission controls, you can tailor channel access so users only review creatives and data from their approved platforms. Let's review how to customize visibility for your team.
Step 1: Verify Your Access Level
Before you attempt to modify these rules, check your role. Only Admin users hold the power to edit user permissions within the dashboard. Additionally, the system grants Admin users global access to data from all platforms, so you cannot restrict an Admin's view.
If you hold a restricted role and need an adjustment, contact your organizational lead or reach out to support@creativex.com to request an upgrade. You can learn more about these specific restrictions in our guide to the different user access and permission levels.
Step 2: Locate the User
To restrict someone's view, navigate to the Company section of your sidebar and select Users. Search for the specific teammate and click on their role to open their profile controls.
Step 3: Customize Visibility Rules
By default, a new account has total visibility unless you applied restrictions when you first sent the invitation. To update an active account, adjust their permissions to limit their visibility to any combination of Brands, Channels, Partners, and Markets.
Once you save these changes, the user will only view and select data that matches the exact parameters you configured. This restriction applies across the entire platform, which means it filters the drop-down options they see for pre-flight evaluations and ad account connections.
- Pro-Tip: Look for an asterisk next to a user's role in the directory! An asterisk indicates that custom permission limits currently apply to that individual.
Troubleshooting
Did you encounter a roadblock with custom permissions?
- Locked Profiles: If you cannot click on a user's role to edit it, you likely lack Admin privileges. An Admin must change their permission level for you.
- Absent Data Options: If a restricted user reports that they cannot submit a Pre-Flight test because their specific brand or market is absent from the drop-down menu, their account restrictions are too strict. You must update their profile to include the required options.
