Check Your Account Permissions on Snapchat

Before you connect or reconnect your Snapchat ad account to CreativeX, you need to confirm that you have the correct level of access. Without the right permissions, Snapchat will block the connection and CreativeX will not receive your data.

This guide explains how to check your permissions so you can move forward with confidence.


Why permissions matter

CreativeX requires Admin-level access to your Snapchat ad account. This level of access allows CreativeX to securely read your campaign, creative, and performance data.

If your role does not meet this requirement, the connection step will fail.


How to check your permissions in Snapchat

Follow these steps to confirm your access level:

Step 1: Log in to Snapchat Business Manager

Go to ads.snapchat.com and sign in with your account credentials

Step 2: Open Business Settings

Select the menu in the top navigation

Go to Business Settings

Step 3: Navigate to Members or Ad Accounts

Locate the section where Snapchat lists users and roles

  • You may find this under Members, Users, or Ad Accounts, depending on your setup

Step 4: Find your user profile

Search for your name or email address in the list

Step 5: Check your role

Review the role assigned to your profile

  • If you see Admin, you have the correct permissions

  • If you see a different role, you will need additional access


What to do if you do not have the right permissions

If your role is not Admin:

  • Contact a colleague who manages your Snapchat Business account

  • Ask them to update your role to Admin

Only users with admin-level access can connect or reconnect accounts in CreativeX.

Troubleshooting

I cannot find Business Settings
Make sure you are logged into the correct Snapchat Business account. Some users only have access to campaign views, not account settings.

My role is not Admin
You will need to request access from an account administrator. Only admins can update user roles.

I see multiple ad accounts and I am unsure which one to check
Review each account and confirm your role for the one you plan to connect to CreativeX.

I have Admin access but still cannot connect the account
Log out and sign back in, then try again. If the issue continues, confirm that your CreativeX user also has the correct permissions.
